Several on the ICCIFP leadership team were curious how much time the average person spent studying for the exam. Maybe we will even post a formal survey on this at a later date!
I spoke to several people - among them Mel BurgEs and Vic Marshall (RIP) - before taking the exam. Mel highly recommended the CFMA Overview class which was very helpful in understanding the scope of the exam. Vic told me he studied about 40 hours so I used that as a guideline. I had about 2 months between the overview class and my exam date and I estimate I easily spent about 40 hours off and on pounding through The Book and other materials. This doesn't include another 20 hours I fell asleep reading The Book. LOL
Anyone else? I know a few that took the exam cold and passed, but that's rare. |
